Easter Fluff in the Dining Room

Right now the Dining room table is loaded with bags from Target!
I made my Easter run last week - I only really go twice a year to the stores - Christmas stocking stuffing and Easter Basket goodies....
The rest of the year I shop pretty much exclusively online.

But, before the Basket goodies were piled on the table
I fluffed up the Dining room for Easter and Spring:

The table cloth is a sweet lavender eyelet and the runner is
a bunny needlepoint from decades back.

Ceramic eggs in a tin basket and the babies'
Peter Rabbit night light from the nursery years
adorn the sideboard.

This adorable bunny and egg were given to me by a
student many years ago.  I love the way he's peeking out
from under the beautiful glass cake dome!

Finally, the Easter tin buckets are lined up and ready to get loaded up with candy:

Wishing everyone a very
Blessed
Holy Week....

Shaking things up a bit!

Yesterday, I woke up with the urge to move some things around here at The House on Lavender Hill.  I have been in a rut and thought re-arranging some furniture might just give me new perspective.

I switched the living room and dining rooms years ago, when my son first got sick.  The original dining room (with the fireplace) was too cramped for him to move around the table with his scooter.  So one morning, much like yesterday's, I just pushed and groaned and changed up the rooms.  {Hey, it was cheaper than therapy when your son is waiting for a heart transplant!}  By the time my husband got home, the electrician was finishing up moving the chandelier - Surprise,  Honey!

While yesterday's switch-a-roo was no where near as dramatic,  we both love the changes and how they opened up the living room.  I also took advantage of the moving to do a deep clean on the room and do some Spring Fluffing!

A few of my favorite details:

Country  bunny from our very first Easter married!

Made the stinker on the back of the couch this winter and
the needlepoint bunny many, many decades ago!

That little cow and bunny we bought in New Hampshire..
it's a music box that plays
"In my Easter Bonnet" !

There's something about bright plastic Easter Eggs
that just makes me happy!

I fluffed the dining room and porch too....
I'll save those for another day.

Today I'm Spring cleaning the guest room and I think there may
be some switch-a-roo'ing going on in there too!

Even I am itching to get outside!

Yup, you heard it here first -
I, the lover of all things winter -
am starting to get a little itchy to get outside in the garden !
I know, I can't believe it either.
I don't want heat or summer, mind you,
but a nice spring day to putter outside might be nice !

It's been a difficult winter here on Lavender Hill with my Jacob
so sick and then having surgery.
He seems to be on the upswing at last, though,
and feeling stronger every day.

I've done lots of hooking and stitching...
but not so much house fluffing.  Just haven't been in the mood.
But I'm hoping a good dose of SPRING CLEANING
might help me shift gears soon!

In the meantime this is what I've had on the hook:

Two custom orders:

finishing up this Bohemian Stripe.
I love all the different textures, stitches and colors -
speaks to my gypsy soul!

This one is definitely a different color story:

I'm a pastel type girly girl,
but it's fun to think outside my usual palette!

The latest Little Miss Shabby block came out this morning!

I can't wait to start stitching up #5.

I have a plan to make individual blocks in embroidery hoops, to sell.
I think they'd be adorable on a gallery wall !

What's Been Going on here on Lavender Hill

Things have been a little crazy here at The House on Lavender Hill.

My sweet Jacob had an awful gallbladder attack and ended up having emergency surgery last week!  They had to remove a gangrenous mess and since he's a heart transplant patient, things were a little more complicated.

But, after five days in the hospital, he's finally home and on the road to recovery!

In the mean time I have several things fresh off the hook and needle:

A grey and yellow baby blanket for one of Jacob's nurses.

A big, fat, fluffy "T" pillow...
for a sweet, sweet little girl who's about to become a big sister !
"T" is for "Teagan" !

I finished the third square on the stitch a long project!
I really do love it and it's been so fun to work on!

Finally... I've been plugging away at this queen size patchwork stinker
for my bed.  Since I only work on it in-between jobs, it's been a slow
Work In Progress:

Finished my first "block"!

I've been working on the Little Miss Shabby Stitch-a-long project.
It's so cute and each block only takes a few hours - so it's short and sweet!

I already have the second chart colored in and my
thread ready to go:
